Special Annual Events

There are several major events held annually at Marquette Catholic High School.  Some are informational and some are focused on fundraising, but they're all a lot of fun to attend!  Keep these events in mind throughout the year... There is no better way to engage with fellow Explorers and help support our school!

  • Info Night At The Park- August 3, 2017  5 pm - 7 pm

    • This is an opportunity that was added in recent years where families in Missouri can attend a casual evening at the Park to meet faculty and other parents and students.  It's a great way to learn more about attending school at Marquette.
  • Freshman & New Family Picnic- August 10, 2017  6 pm- 8 pm

    • Our picnic is a fun and exciting event for our freshmen and new families as the new school year starts.  Learn everything there is about becoming an Explorer, what to expect, activities to join and enjoy some food and new friends at the same time. The "picnic" is held at Marquette.
  • $50,000 Mega Raffle

    • The Mega Raffle is Marquette's largest fundraising event of the year.  Tickets may be purchased for a chance to win $50,000.  Several "Early Bird" drawings are held as well, earning ticket holders $1,000 and a re-entry into the big drawing.  The event concludes with a block party on Homecoming weekend.
  • John Rogers' Explorer Golf Classic

    • One of our longest-standing full day fundraising events, the Explorer Classic has been held annually for over 20 years now.  It is held at Spencer T. Olin Golf Course in Alton.
  • MCHS Open House

    • Marquette hosts an Open House to all area 6th, 7th and 8th grade students as well as students looking to transfer and become Marquette Explorers!  This is a great opportunity to explore our grounds and learn more about the daily life and opportunities that being an Explorer can offer.
  • Cash Calendar

    • The calendar is an annual fundraiser sponsored by the Explorer Club.  The cost of the calendar is $25 and a name is drawn for each day of the year with cash prizes of $25 for Mondays through Saturdays, $100 for Sundays, $100 for New Years Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, and Thanksgiving Day.  A cash prize of $250 will be given for Easter and $1000 for Christmas.  We ask all MCHS students to sell this calendar, which features photos of student activities throughout the year.  The Cash Calendar is on sale from October through December.
  • Catholic Schools Week

    • Catholic Schools Week at Marquette begins with daily activities and concludes with our very successful St. Baldrick's event.
  • Explorer Club Trivia Night

    • Trivia Night is held in the school gymnasium.  It is hosted by the Explorer Club (parents) and is an extremely fun and well attended event every year!
  • Explorer Club Dinner Auction

    • The Auction is one of the Explorer Club's largest fundraising event of the year.  Both an oral and silent auction are held.  The dinner and oral auction is held at the Lewis & Clark Community College Commons facility.  This is a very nice evening and everyone is welcome, even those who do not wish to bid on items.  The cost to attend the Auction is $50.00 per person and covers dinner and dance.
  • Sporting Clay Shoot

    • Fundraising event for adults and junior shooters alike.  It is held annually in the spring at Nilo Farms.
  • Marquette Catholic Day at Busch Stadium

    • See the Explorers play baseball at Busch Stadium!  Your ticket includes the Marquette baseball game and the Cardinals baseball game that follows - a fun day at the ballpark from great seats!
  • Fun Run/Walk 5k

    • The Explorer Club offers a “fun run/walk”.  It is a 5k and starts at Marquette, goes through middle town and ends back at Marquette.
  • Giving Day

    • Giving Day at Marquette is held near graduation time and encourages parents, students and alumni to participate in Giving Back to Marquette with as little as a $10 donation.  There is a lot of competition between past graduating classes to see who can give back the most and donations can be allocated towards departments that mean the most to the donor (such as Athletics, Arts, Areas of Greatest Need, etc.)
  • Chicago's 1st Annual Alumni Party

The 1st Annual Chicago Alumni Party was a success!  See you all next year.
