MCHS Anglers Head to State Tournament

Sectional champ Marquette anglers set for state

Patrick "Bucky" Wiemers, left, and Justin Atkinson of Marquette catholic High are heading to the IHSA State Bass Fishing Tournament, set for Friday and Saturday (May 21 & 22, 2021) at Carlyle Lake. The two advanced to state by winning the recent sectional at Coffeen Lake. They finished ahead of second-place Highland and third-place Hillsboro to win the sectional. The top three teams advanced to the state tourney. Marquette’s other bass fishing duo, Will Roderfield and Zane Ditto, was fourth at the sectional and will be an alternate team at the state tournament this weekend.
