"I am honored to be awarded the Student of the Month by the Rotary Club"
Senior Meredith Zigrang has been named the Rotary Club's October student of the month. She is the proud daughter of Todd Zigrang and Barbara Snyders-Fleming. Meredith is a 4th generation senior at Marquette Catholic High School. She has three older sisters who attended Marquette and have graduated in 2017, 2020, and 2021. After high school Meredith plans to attend University of Missouri where her older siblings have attended.
Having been enrolled in challenging courses, including honors courses, Meredith has earned a 3.9 grade point average since her freshman year. She has earned a place in the National Honor Society given her grade point average and her volunteer service hours. Meredith assists in a variety of community service activities in both National Honor Society and other service organizations. Her total service hours exceed 400 hours of volunteerism.
As Student Body President, Meredith has served on the Student Council, in a variety of capacities, all four years of high school. Most notably, she has served as Sophomore class president and a student leader. She embodies the school motto of “serviam” to be an example for all scholars. Her goal as Student Body President is to build school community and camaraderie through a variety of activities and fundraisers. Meredith states that her role model for this position is her older sister Peyton Zigrang who was also student body president and graduated from Marquette in 2020.
Meredith is involved in a variety of clubs and activities. Aside from Student Body President and NHS, Meredith is involved in Yearbook club, Breast Cancer Awareness, and the Communications Class. In her role as Campus Ministry President, she prepares for Wednesday Mass and encourages other students to increase service hours. Meredith not only focuses on academics and service hours, but is also involved in athletics. She has played basketball for 4 years and softball for 4 years.
